More late doping news from Tour De France this year

RC Logo 1.jpg

The news from the world of cycling continues to disappoint, months after the conclusion of the largest sporting event in the world. From cyclingnews.com comes the report of "Piepoli and Schumacher Tour de France samples positive for CERA"

Between the two riders they had won three stages and worn the yellow jersey for two days (Schumacher).

The news is notable not only for the disappointment it brings but for the similarity it shares with other recent high profile cases of Performance Enhancing Drug abuse like the BALCO case involving Marion Jones and others. In both instances there was inside information given to anti-doping that enabled them to close in on the offenders.

Trying to stay up with the cheaters takes a lot of work. It would be a lot more simple to not have to worry about it.
